Collaboration with Adi Mor.

The project aims to re-create intimate situations found in ancient villages and towns. The planning process was different from the manner in which vernacular architecture is created. While vernacular architecture is based on random positioning of houses that are added without global planning, here we carved the site plan in order to create paths that allow the circulation throughout the compound. This action generated a global urban plan from which the buildings were derived, in a random pattern.

This project was planned for high density of people, yet allows for the existence of large green spaces. It creates special placement for public spaces and sites within the community. In doing so, we strived to create human comfort, and allow for a sense of place, which nourishes the human spirit.
